November 2, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sydney locals are invited to test their skills at building Human Towers
Human towers is an activity originated in the 1800s in Catalonia (north-east of Spain). Although the majority of teams come from Catalan lands, tradition has extended to international ones such as Hangzhou (China), London, Paris and Copenhagen.
Sydney Human Towers is opening their doors to all Sydneysiders to come and experience first hand this unique tradition, enlisted as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco since 2010.
The event will take place on Saturday 2nd November at the Gure Txoko (Basque Club) in Darlinghurst and will include photography exhibitions, performances, workshops and of course the screening of the best moments of the biggest human towers contest, held every 2 years. We have attached the event’s program for your reference.
Entry to the event is free and activities are open to all ages.
