Human Towers Fest
October 20, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 6:00 pm
FreeSydney locals are invited to test their skills at building Human Towers
This past weekend (6-7 October, 2018) one of the most colorful and impressive events in the world took place in a town one hour south of Barcelona: the Human Towers Contest.
This incredible event gathers hundreds of people from competing teams every two years to claim the title of the ‘Best Human Tower Team’. Although the majority of teams come from Catalan lands, tradition has extended to international ones such as Hangzhou (China), London, Paris and Copenhagen.
In light of this unique event, the Sydney Human Towers is opening their doors to all Sydneysiders to come and experience first hand this unique tradition, enlisted as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco since 2010.
The event will take place on Saturday 20th October at the Gure Txoko (Basque Club) in Darlinghurst and will include photography exhibitions, performances, workshops and of course the screening of the best moments of the contest. We have attached the event’s program for your reference.
Entry to the event is free and activities are open to all ages.
